To mark and celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
Head of The Commonwealth (1952 – 2022)
The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir (CYO)
announced the launch of its
Commonwealth Music Academy.
CYO’s Platinum Jubilee Legacy Music Initiative,
Commonwealth Music Academy,
has been established as an online music education resource,
with international residential programmes,
and opportunities for music performances and recordings
across The Commonwealth and beyond.
The mission of CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy is:
“Inspire to Aspire”.
CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy’s Faculties include:

Choral Faculty
Orchestral Faculty

On Commonwealth Day, 14 March 2022
CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy launched
A Guild of Commonwealth Composers, which is commissioning
Music Composers in all 56 countries of The Commonwealth
To create music compositions which will be performed and recorded by
CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy.
On Commonwealth Anniversary Day, 28 April 2022
CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy released
a set of new recordings and new music commissions
to mark and celebrate the
Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Going forward, as a tribute to
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
and to mark, 2022, the year of
Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee,
70 years as Head of The Commonwealth,
CYO’s Commonwealth Music Academy has established its
Commonwealth Music Academy Orchestra and Choir.
