On Monday 7 February 2022 at 12 noon,
To mark and celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
Head of The Commonwealth (1952 – 2022)
The Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir (CYO)
announced the launch of
The Commonwealth Music Academy.

CYO’s Platinum Jubilee Legacy Music Initiative,
The Commonwealth Music Academy,
has been established as an online music education resource,
with residential programmes,
and opportunities for music performances and recordings.

The mission of The Commonwealth Music Academy is:
“Inspire to Aspire”.

The Commonwealth Music Academy’s Faculties include:
Early Years Faculty
Primary Schools Faculty
Secondary Schools Faculty
Tertiary Faculty
Choral Faculty
Orchestral Faculty
Instrumental Faculty
Ensembles Faculty
Composition Faculty
Recording Faculty

On Commonwealth Day, 14 March 2022
The Commonwealth Music Academy launched
A Guild of Commonwealth Composers,
which is commissioning
Music Composers in all 56 countries of The Commonwealth
To create music compositions which will be performed and recorded by
The Commonwealth Music Academy.

On Commonwealth Anniversary Day, 28 April 2022
The Commonwealth Guild of Composers released
a set of new recordings and new music commissions
to mark and celebrate the
Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Going forward, as a tribute to
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,
and to mark, 2022, the year of
Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee,
70 years as Head of The Commonwealth,
The Commonwealth Music Academy will establish
Commonwealth Music Academy Choirs,
and Commonwealth Academy Orchestras,
in all 56 Nations of The Commonwealth.

A Commemorative Gift for
Her Majesty The Queen,
Diamond Jubilee Patron 2012,
of the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra and Choir,
presented by its Artistic Director, Maestro Paul Carroll,
of The Commonwealth Anthem, with lyrics set
by the Commonwealth Secretariat, of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948.
